Ryanair has canceled the flight connecting Lanzarote with Birmingham due to the strike that cabin crew will carry out next Friday. This has been confirmed to La Voz by company workers, as the airline's press department has only limited itself to reporting the number of flights canceled throughout the European network, stating that they "unfortunately" do not have "the breakdown and the percentage of flights that could be affected in Spain and at the airports in which it operates".

Initially, Ryanair announced the advance cancellation of 190 flights in Europe due to the strike, but this Wednesday it sent a new statement pointing out that the number of canceled flights has finally been reduced to 150, stating that this decrease is due to the "vast majority" of its employees working "normally".

"In this way, more than 92% of Ryanair's 2,400 flights scheduled for this Friday will not be affected by the unnecessary strike and will operate normally", the company highlighted, stating that affected customers received emails and SMS messages this Tuesday informing them of the cancellation of their flight, as well as their options. "We have done everything possible to avoid this strike, and we sincerely apologize to all affected customers", the company said.

Minimum services of 100% on flights to the Canary Islands

This is the second strike carried out by Ryanair's cabin crew, after the stoppages they carried out on July 25 and 26. On that occasion, the company also carried out prior cancellations of numerous flights to minimize the impact of the strike, but it also did not report which ones affected Lanzarote, despite the fact that five connections with the island were canceled.

As on that occasion, the Ministry of Development has also set minimum services of 100% for flights to the Canary Islands for this Friday, according to various national media, so it is expected that, with the exception of the connection from Lanzarote to Birmigham that has been previously canceled according to the workers, the rest of the flights will operate normally.
