Iberia Express has reinforced its winter program with the incorporation of 14 transversal routes with origin or destination in the Canary Islands for this Christmas season, of which 12 of them will be operated for the first time in its history.

The company will operate between December 17 and January 10, 165 additional frequencies (330 flights) between the Canary Islands and other national destinations, such as Mallorca, Asturias, Santiago de Compostela, Alicante and Bilbao, and also international destinations such as Manchester and Newcastle.

Iberia Express will operate the direct routes of Alicante-Lanzarote and Alicante-Fuerteventura with 6 flights each, will offer 7 flights on the routes of Asturias-Tenerife, Asturias-Lanzarote, Asturias-Gran Canaria, Mallorca-Gran Canaria, Mallorca-Tenerife, Bilbao-Tenerife, Santiago-Gran Canaria and Santiago-Tenerife, and 2 flights Manchester-Lanzarote, Manchester-Gran Canaria, Newcastle-Lanzarote, Newcastle-Gran Canaria.

In total, these new routes represent nearly 53,000 additional seats and around 32% more capacity compared to the airline's regular program in the Christmas period.

In the words of Evandro Vianna, commercial director of Iberia Express, "these additional flights are a clear sign of our firm commitment to connectivity and the recovery of tourism, especially in the Canary Islands. We maintained a minimum operation during the first state of alarm because we understood that it was necessary to support essential connectivity for the islands in difficult times, and now we continue to support them to rebuild the flight program with the archipelago, betting on introducing new routes and more frequencies to recover all the connectivity that is possible."

Tickets for these routes are on sale with very competitive prices ranging from 30 euros each way for Asturias, 32 euros for Alicante and 33 euros for Mallorca, Santiago and Bilbao, buying round trip through the Express Club on the Company's website. Flights to destinations in the United Kingdom will be available on the website in the coming days.

In addition to these transversal routes, Iberia Express will reinforce its operations at Christmas with additional flights to and from Madrid. In this way, the airline will offer 27 additional flights from Madrid to Tenerife, 18 to Gran Canaria, 13 to Lanzarote, 12 to Fuerteventura and Mallorca, 4 to Santiago, and 2 to Manchester and Newcastle.

With all the security

"At Iberia Express our top priority is the safety and health of our passengers, crews and collaborators" says Evandro Vianna. "To this end, we have implemented a series of prevention and hygiene measures to ensure safety on our flights and provide customers with a pleasant flight experience." In this sense, the company is a pioneer in following the recommendations of the European and Spanish Aviation Safety agencies (EASA and AESA) and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Among the measures adopted, the airline offers its customers the possibility of checking hand luggage free of charge, which provides an extra level of comfort, but has also launched new boarding and disembarkation procedures to promote safety distance, as well as making available to customers disinfectant wipes or specific bags for waste.

Additionally, so that Iberia Express customers have all the guarantees and facilities to fly to their destinations, the airline - within the Iberia group - has reached an agreement with Quirónprevención so that customers who wish to do so can take PCR tests before making their trip with special and exclusive prices for customers.

Offering security to customers also involves applying flexibility measures to flight bookings, which is why Iberia Express offers flexible conditions when buying tickets to provide the greatest peace of mind to customers, so that they can travel with complete confidence.
