The Royal Decree-Law approved by the Council of Ministers on June 25 to mitigate the effects of inflation as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine includes a one-time payment of 200 euros for households with incomes below 14,000 euros per year, that is, for individuals with low incomes and assets, who are employees, self-employed or unemployed.
The Spanish Government estimates that the 200 euro aid will benefit 2.7 million people and increase their income by 540 million. In the case of the Canary Islands, around 110,000 residents are entitled to receive the aforementioned benefit. However, in order to access it, it will be necessary to meet a series of requirements, such as having a legal and effective residence in Spain and having had it continuously and uninterruptedly during the immediately preceding year, being registered in some Social Security regime and being registered as unemployed in the employment office, whether or not they are receiving unemployment benefits or subsidies.
In addition, the income obtained in 2021, including that received by cohabitants, must be less than 14,000 euros and the assets, excluding the habitual residence, may not exceed 43,196.40 euros.
The deadline to process this aid began on July 8 and will end on September 30, 2022. To apply for it, it will be necessary to have Cl@ve or electronic certificate (including DNI-e) to fill in the electronic form available on the Electronic Headquarters of the State Tax Administration Agency.
