The former Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Miguel Sebastián, spoke this Monday on the program 'La Destiladera' of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, presented by Alberto Acosta, where he made an economic analysis of the tourism prospects for the Canary Islands and Lanzarote after the Covid-19 crisis.

In this regard, Sebastián stressed that this summer we should focus on promoting domestic tourism to cushion the crisis and direct efforts to countries that have already emerged from the pandemic. "We cannot afford to fall back again," he said.

"I think we should make domestic tourism plans, which could be interesting for the Canary Islands if we have the support of the airlines. Here we would have to have a plan for everything, from the Government, the autonomous communities and the private sector, and offer reasonable packages so that people can go," he said.

Likewise, the former minister believes that a popular collection, a crowdfunding, could be made to reward "the heroes" of this coronavirus crisis with a vacation in the Canary Islands. "They deserve it," said the former minister.
