Five hotel companies from Lanzarote have filed a request for bankruptcy proceedings against Viajes Marsans in the Commercial Court number 12 of Madrid, a company managed by the president of the Spanish employers' association, Gerardo Díaz Ferrán, and his partner Gonzalo Pascual.

The companies are Arrecife Hoteles, owner of the Arrecife Gran Hotel, Hotel Princesa Yaiza, Apartamentos Los Zocos, Hoteles y Gestión, which owns the Lomo Blanco apartments in Puerto del Carmen, and Daminvest, also in Puerto del Carmen. Marsans owes these companies just over 300,000 euros.

The debt of Viajes Marsans with hotel companies in Lanzarote is greater. There are more affected companies that were going to join that request and have finally not done so. In some cases, the debts are close to 30,000 euros and in others they are much higher. The hotels of Lanzarote thus join the Italian cruise company Grimaldi, which was the first company to file for bankruptcy against Viajes Marsans for a debt of 75,000 euros.
