The Coca Cola distribution company in Lanzarote "in principle" will not close its doors, although the workers will continue with the protests to prevent the company from relocating the staff. This was explained this Wednesday by the representative of the workers for UGT, Juan Jesús Rodríguez, who assured that the company in La Palma will not be dismantled either.
The Coca Cola delegate in Lanzarote has told the employees that "in principle, the company is not going to close", but that "relocations" may occur. "Some people may be relocated, but others will not due to family circumstances," he said.
Faced with this situation and the possible transfer of personnel to other islands, the employees in Lanzarote have decided to continue with their concentration this Wednesday at the doors of the headquarters, and to hold a new day of strike this Thursday. "The islands are still affected by this ERE and we will continue to protest," said Juan Jesús Rodríguez.
However, he did value Coca Cola's "approach" to the workers, offering voluntary compensated leaves of 45 days per year worked, although he considers it "insufficient". "It's like an unfair dismissal," he said.
