The Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture has extended the deadline for justifying the aid received in the call for subsidies for small and medium-sized cultural projects, which, in those activities carried out during the first semester of 2024, will be until October 30 of this year.
These aids, managed by the General Directorate of Cultural Innovation and Creative Industries, were published on June 5 and now extend the margin for the presentation of the documentation required for the projects that obtain them as has been published in the Notice Board of the Electronic Headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The objective of the subsidies is to promote projects of the Canarian agents of the cultural sector and the creative industries and programming in cultural spaces in order to consolidate and attract new audiences while promoting the exercise of the cultural rights of the population by enabling the development of various activities.
This extension, intended for the presentation of invoices and other administrative documents, will benefit small and medium-sized cultural projects and activities held between January and June 2024 that are subsidized, including initiatives in the performing and musical arts (dance, theater, circus and music), literature (narrative, poetry, essay, dramaturgy and oral narration), comics and graphic novels.
The call for projects of small and medium format has a budget of 1,600,000 euros for projects carried out in the second semester of 2023 and in the first of 2024.
On the other hand, in a complementary way, the call for projects of Large Format, also published on June 5, has an allocation of 2,600,000 euros, and projects carried out throughout 2023 and 2024 can be submitted to it.
