July 23 is the date marked in fire for the best drivers in the world to delight extreme sports lovers at the Los Molinos stadium in the town of Teguise. A date that will mix emotion, fun, risk and adrenaline with a show of more than two hours long full of jumps, stunts, music, visual effects and surprises.
Four categories and a legend: Edgar Torronteras
Freestyle Zombies is composed of four exciting categories. On the one hand, some of the best FMX (freestyle motocross) riders on the planet will perform stunts at more than 15 meters high, 23 meters away and separated by a starting ramp and a receiving ramp.
The Spaniards Edgar Torronteras, a living legend of this sport, Marc Pinyol, the youngest rider to do a back flip at 18 years old and creator of a unique trick such as the "inside roll", Guillem Navas, a young and emerging international promise, and the Frenchman, David Rinaldo, 2013 FIM Freestyle Motocross world champion, are some of the most outstanding riders who will take part in the queen category.
12-meter mega ramp and a flying quad
On the other hand, the MTB Freestyle "riders" will cross the skies of the island with mountain bikes accelerating from an imposing 12-meter high mega ramp. The best exponents of this category will be Bienvenido Aguado, holder of several world records and impossible tricks such as the double front flip, or an international rider such as Gemma Corbera.
In addition, the Scooter Freestyle riders will be responsible, aboard a "scooter", for lifting fans from their seats. The best example will be the very young Alex Gonga (15 years old),
The great novelty of the visual show will be the participation, for the first time, of a Quad Freestyle rider of proven quality, such as the Frenchman David Tharan. who will delight with unique tricks in his specialty.
Music, fires, acrobatics and more surprises
Apart from the purely sporting side, parallel activities will be carried out such as the performance of the acrobatic cheerleaders (Psycho Dolls), fire jugglers, visual effects and a speaker at the height of an unforgettable show that will raise the curtain at 9:00 p.m.
First station of the Canary Islands Tour
The island of Lanzarote will be the first stop (July 23) of a Canary Islands Tour that will travel on July 30 to the Gran Canaria Arena (Gran Canaria), which will pass through the San Sebastián sports center in La Gomera (August 20) and which will culminate on August 27 at the Antonio Domínguez stadium in Arona (Tenerife).
