The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will hold the conference “The video game sector as a business model in Lanzarote”. A meeting designed to analyze the professional opportunities offered by the video game and electronic sports industry on the island, organized thanks to the support of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The event that will take place on Thursday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m., will be inaugurated by the Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Nori Machín and the president of the Chamber, José Valle. This is an event that will mark a milestone, bringing together for the first time the main representatives of the video game sector and eSports in the Canary Islands in a dialogue table to address the present and future of this emerging industry from the island sphere.
Dialogue tables with professionals from the sector
In the first dialogue table, the situation of the sector in the Canary Islands and the professional opportunities it generates will be discussed. Representatives of reference projects and events such as Tenerife Lan Party, TenerifeGG, Liga Canaria de Esports HiperDino, Canary Islands Association of Video Game Developers, Esports Competition Master League, Esports Challengers and NexAtlantic will participate.
Next, Sergio Prieto, Lead Game Designer at Quantum Box Games, a Canary Islands studio based in Gran Canaria that signed a historic two million euro agreement with the Japanese studio Route24, will speak.
The event will conclude with a second dialogue table starring Sabita Jagtani, senior technician of the Canary Special Zone (ZEC), and Pilar Moreno, director of Invest in the Canary Islands – Proexca. This session will discuss the Canary Island Games project, the Canary Islands Government's initiative to promote the development of the video game industry in the islands, by providing information on tax incentives, studies and resources for developers.
