The Canary Islands have accumulated three weeks without deaths from coronavirus and only one person is hospitalized

There are 62 people in isolation, 37 of them migrants who arrived in a small boat in recent weeks in Fuerteventura

This Saturday, the Canary Islands have reached three weeks without registering deaths from coronavirus, so the figure remains at 162 deaths on a day in which hospitalizations have decreased and only one person remains admitted.

Likewise, in the last 24 hours two new positives have been added in the archipelago, up to a total of 2,446, according to the data balance updated at 2:00 p.m. by the Ministry of Health of the Regional Government, from which it is extracted that 2,221 of them have already recovered.

Therefore, there are currently about 63 active cases in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, of which 62 are in isolation and the remaining one is hospitalized in the ICU.

In this sense, the most affected island is Fuerteventura with a total of 40 active cases, with 37 migrants who arrived in a small boat in recent weeks infected and who remain isolated in a warehouse in Puerto del Rosario.

By islands, and following the item in the declaration of the case, the one with the most accumulated positives is Tenerife, which has 1,607 cases; followed by Gran Canaria with 610 cases; La Palma, 89 cases; Lanzarote, 88 cases; Fuerteventura, 56 cases; La Gomera, 7 cases, and El Hierro, 1 case.

Coronavirus affects women more than men, with 1,322 and 1,124 cases, respectively, and especially affects the age group between 40 and 49 years, with 430 cases.

Finally, the deaths by islands are distributed as follows: 114 deaths in Tenerife; 3 in La Palma; 40 in Gran Canaria, and 6 in Lanzarote.
