The Canary Islands have added 214 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 150 have occurred on the island of Tenerife, with the total accumulating in the islands of 21,584 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, in the last day we have had to regret a new death, which raises the number of deaths to 341.
Thus, of the total cases that the Canary Islands has registered, 4,292 are active, which is three more than a day ago, according to the data that the Canary Islands Ministry of Health publishes after 2:00 p.m.
Currently, of the active cases in the islands, 39 people remain in an Intensive Care Unit (-3), 205 on the hospital floor (+13) and 4,048 are isolated in their homes. Likewise, a total of 16,951 people have been discharged after contracting the coronavirus virus, which is 210 more than a day ago.
Regarding the accumulated incidence, in the Canary Islands it rises three and a half points in seven days to 44.58 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while at 14 days it also rises four points to 84.33.
Regarding the tests, in the Canary Islands a total of 593,078 tests have been carried out so far, of which 27,368 were positive, which represents 4.6 percent of the total.
By islands
Regarding the cases of coronavirus by islands, Gran Canaria continues to lead in number of cases with 9,526 by adding 41 in the last 24 hours, of which 1,085 are active (-56), while 128 people have died and 8,313 have overcome the disease.
It is followed by Tenerife with 9,315 cases registered since the pandemic began (+150), of which 3,063 are active (+50), 193 have died (+1) and 6,059 have been discharged.
After it is Lanzarote with 1,421 cases (+13), of which 62 are active (+11), nine have perished and 1,350 people have overcome the disease.
Fuerteventura, for its part, remains with an accumulated 921 cases (+9), of which 59 are active, four died and 858 were discharged; La Palma remains with 216 cases, of which seven are active, six died and 203 overcame the disease.
La Gomera closes the list with 116 cases (+1), of which 15 are active (-2), 101 have been discharged and no deaths have been reported; while El Hierro has 69 cases, of which one is active, in addition to registering one death and 67 discharges.
