The latest data from the Ministry of Health confirms that the situation on the island remains stable

Lanzarote has completed this Friday a week without adding new cases of coronavirus, according to data released by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. Thus, while in the autonomous community the figures have continued to increase, the island continues with only three confirmed cases.

The last one was registered on Friday of last week and was officially announced on Saturday, while the other two were known on Thursday the 12th, and corresponded to a couple of tourists staying in a hotel in Playa Blanca.

Regarding the archipelago as a whole, the latest official data that has been made public, and which corresponds to the accumulated until 8:00 p.m. this Thursday, raises the cases to 287, with four deaths. This represents 67 new positives in 24 hours, which have accumulated mainly in Tenerife.

By islands, Tenerife adds 192 cases; Gran Canaria, 70; La Gomera, 3; La Palma, 7; Lanzarote, 3 and Fuerteventura, 12. As for El Hierro, it continues to appear without cases in the latest official balance, although unofficially a first positive has also been confirmed, which will not appear in the statistics until Saturday, having been registered after 8:00 p.m. the previous day. In this way, the only inhabited island of the archipelago without positives is La Graciosa.

Of the 287 cases already accumulated in the Canary Islands, 115 have been hospitalizations and 25 admissions to the ICU. Regarding cured patients, the Ministry has corrected the figure it had been providing. Thus, although in recent days it announced that there were 9 and at the last hour on Thursday it raised it to 12, finally this Friday it has specified that there are only 6. The new data, according to the Ministry, arises after "purifying the statistics".
