Although the number of coronavirus cases has grown again this Sunday throughout Spain and also in the Canary archipelago, in Lanzarote the situation remains stable and no new positives have been registered in the last few hours. Thus, on the island there are still three patients and none of them are serious.

The first two cases were confirmed last Thursday, in a hotel in Playa Blanca. The affected are a couple of tourists who arrived on the island on a flight from Madrid, although she is a native of Argentina and he is Swiss. Both remain in home isolation, as their condition is mild, and on Friday they were transferred to another location and no longer continue in the hotel.

As for the third case registered in Lanzarote, it was made public this Saturday, but the Ministry of Health has not provided data on whether it is a resident or a tourist.

Among the least affected, behind El Hierro

By islands, Lanzarote is among the least affected in the Canary Islands, only behind El Hierro, where no case has been detected so far. As for Fuerteventura and La Gomera, they have also had three cases, although in La Gomera two have already been discharged and therefore there is only one active case left. For its part, La Palma has five, while in Gran Canaria there have been 20 cases, one of which ended in death.

The worst situation is being experienced in Tenerife, which currently maintains 70 active cases and eight of them are in serious condition. The other patient who is serious is in Gran Canaria, while in the islands as a whole there are a total of 33 people hospitalized.
