The Canary Islands has registered 94 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total number of accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 56,940, and it also has to regret a death in Gran Canaria, so the total number of deaths amounts to 770, according to data from the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Government.
Thus, of the total number of accumulated cases in the islands, 1,662 are active (+35), of which 30 are admitted to the ICU (no variation), 189 remain hospitalized (-2) and 1,443 are in their homes (+37). In addition, so far 54,508 people have overcome the disease in the archipelago after 58 Canarians were discharged.
Regarding the Accumulated Incidence (AI) at 7 days in the Canary Islands, it stands at 33.09 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the AI at 14 days is at 66.96 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. So far, 1,149,442 PCR tests have been carried out in the islands --2,003 in the last day-- of which 59,966 were positive, which represents 5.22 percent.
By islands, Tenerife adds 46 new infections and accumulates 25,083 accumulated cases, of which 1,071 are epidemiologically active, 426 died and 23,586 were discharged; while Gran Canaria has 22,731 accumulated cases (+17), of which 384 are active, 270 died (+1) and 22,077 overcame the disease.
Lanzarote, meanwhile, accumulates 5,566 cases (+19), of which 125 are epidemiologically active, 49 died and 5,392 were discharged; while Fuerteventura adds 9 infections and accumulates 2,385 cases, of which 74 are active, 13 died and 2,298 overcame the disease.
La Palma adds two cases and places its accumulated number at 568 cases, with six active, seven deceased and 555 people who have recovered from the virus; El Hierro remains with an accumulated 371, having no active case, four deaths and 367 people were discharged.
Finally, La Gomera adds one case, up to a total of 235 infections since the beginning of the pandemic, of which two are active, while its balance sheet records one death and 232 people who have overcome the disease.
