Canary Islands adds 216 cases of Covid and four deaths in the last day

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Tuesday 216 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus. The total of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 99,448 with 1,875 active, of which 22 are admitted to the ICU and 145 remain hospitalized.

In the last hours the death of four people has been reported: a 72-year-old man in Gran Canaria, two women aged 83 and 94 in Tenerife and a 56-year-old man in Lanzarote. All of them remained in hospital admission and all, except the deceased in Gran Canaria of whom there is no record of antecedents, suffered from previous pathologies.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 56.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 94.95 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 82 cases with a total of 885 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 86 more than the previous day and 660 active. Lanzarote adds 18 new cases with 106 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 28 more cases than the previous day and 182 active. La Palma has a new positive and has 21 active cases; El Hierro registers a new case, standing at two active. For its part, La Gomera remains at 19 active.

As of this Tuesday, a total of 2,318,279 PCR tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 5,989 correspond to Monday.
