A reader has contacted La Voz de Lanzarote to report the lack of containers for the collection of used oil in the municipality of Teguise.
“Many users of selective collection containers leave bottles of vegetable oils next to recycling containers”, says the reader, who acknowledges that cleaning operators do not collect these containers "because they are not their responsibility”.
The reader maintains that he has asked the company in charge of this service for the reason, and even the Lanzarote Cabildo Council itself, and that both respond that “it has to be the City Council that requests it”.
However, he denounces that from the Teguise City Council pass the buck to the Cabildo, and point out that the responsibility lies with the Island Corporation.
“Everyone is passing the buck”, laments the affected party, who emphasizes that, while they decide who is responsible, citizens continue to leave the oil in bottles next to the recycling containers of other materials.
“When will one of these containers be in one of the most beautiful towns in Spain?”, he asks, questioning that this award is not meritorious, because from the Consistory “they do not fulfill their obligations”.
