The Haría City Council has presented the program for the San Juan Bautista 2025 Patron Saint Festivities, an event that will kick off next Friday, June 13, with a full range of activities designed for all audiences. For twelve days, the municipality will focus on a celebration that will highlight its traditions, gastronomy and popular culture.
Mayor Alfredo Villalba has encouraged the residents of the municipality to participate in the different events, highlighting that the festivities "are an opportunity to enjoy and share our customs in community." For his part, the Councilor for Festivities, Alberto de León, has stressed the inclusive nature of the program: "We have tried to offer activities designed for all ages and tastes, with proposals ranging from music and theater to gastronomy and sports."
Featured program of the festivities
The official opening will be on Friday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m., with a Holy Mass in the Hermitage of San Juan, followed by the transfer of the image of the saint to the Parish Church.
Saturday the 14th will be an intense day, with the XLVI Ascent to Haría, the V Veterans Football Memorial, a tasting of Canarian products with live performances for the XXIV Anniversary of the Craft Market, and at night, the reading of the proclamation and the concerts of Swing del Norte and Los Conejeros.
On Sunday the 15th, sports and family entertainment will take center stage, with the San Juan Canarian Wrestling Tournament, a Children's Afternoon in the square and the comedy show by Aarón Gómez at night.
Between June 16 and 18, the activities will be dedicated to the elderly, including bowling tournaments and the Senior Party with snacks and the Noche de Boleros show. On Thursday the 19th, the play A Midsummer Night's Dream, by the Municipal Theater School, and an original fashion show with residents of the municipality stand out.
On Friday the 20th, the XXI Malpaís de la Corona Festival will arrive, with folk groups invited from Tenerife. Saturday the 21st will be the turn of the XXIX Pilgrimage in honor of San Juan Bautista, followed by the Pilgrims' Dance.
On Sunday the 22nd, Haría will dawn with the traditional Making of Salt Carpets, children's activities, the Corpus Christi mass, and a musical theater performance entitled De altos vuelos.
The festivities will culminate strongly on Monday, June 23, with the presentation of the XXVII Haría Awards, the performance of Cristina Ramos, the expected Night of Fire and a verbena with Grupo Bomba and La Mekánica by Tamarindos. Finally, on Tuesday the 24th, the solemn mass and procession in honor of San Juan Bautista will be celebrated, a religious act that will put an end to this edition of the festivities.
