VulcanAloe Conejero started the season in the best possible way, after winning an exciting derby against Hortofrutícola Lanzarote Costa Teguise. Gustavo Zamora's team had to resort to their best version in the second half and extra time to come back in a match that kept the fans of the Lanzarote Sports City on edge, ending with a tight score of 88-87.

The match began with the visitors in control. CB Costa Teguise took advantage of their outside shooting accuracy to open a gap on the scoreboard, quickly reaching 6-13, which forced the home coach to stop the game with a timeout before reaching the halfway point of the first quarter. The instructions took effect: the orange team reacted with a 10-3 run in less than three minutes, turning the score around and closing the first period with an advantage (23-20).

During the second quarter, VulcanAloe Conejero maintained the initiative, but personal fouls began to affect their rhythm. The home team soon entered the bonus, a circumstance that Costa Teguise took advantage of from the free throw line to reduce differences and reverse the situation before halftime, which ended with a 39-44 lead for the visitors.

In the second half, the orange team showed their best version. With greater accuracy in attack and a smart rotation from the bench, Zamora managed to balance the score. Despite still being burdened by fouls, the team did not lose composure and narrowed the gap, closing the third quarter 62-64.

Right at the start of the last quarter, a three-pointer from Ancor Pérez gave the locals the lead again. From that moment on, the game became a constant exchange of blows. Both teams alternated successes and errors in a final stretch of great intensity.

With a little less than three minutes to play, the CB Conejero first team seemed to be heading for victory with an 81-77 score, but the visiting coach, Federico Toledo, called a time-out to stop the home side's momentum. The strategy paid off, and in just thirty seconds Costa Teguise tied the game. Missed shots from both teams prevented anyone from breaking the tie, and regulation time ended 81-81, forcing overtime.

Overtime maintained the same excitement. A dazzling start with a basket from Reginaldo Nsue and a three-pointer from Ancor Pérez put VulcanAloe Conejero ahead, but Costa Teguise responded effectively from the free throw line, even taking the lead. In the final stretch, again Ancor Pérez, the star of the match, scored from the free throw line to make it the definitive 88-87.

The visiting team had one last possession with 29 seconds left to play, but the home defense stood firm, sealing a victory that unleashed joy in the stands.

With this result, VulcanAloe Conejero begins the season with a prestigious victory and reinforces its confidence for the next match. The team is still awaiting the rescheduling of the match not played against Colegio Tacoronte, corresponding to the first day.

The next match will be against BSB on November 8 at the Santa Brígida Pavilion, where Gustavo Zamora's team will look to maintain their positive streak and continue to consolidate their collective play.
