Unión Sur Yaiza has spent more than three months without offering a victory to the fans who come to the Municipal de Yaiza, letting the three points escape in the match played against CD Laguna. In a bad match, without goal opportunities and very rough, CD Laguna took the victory thanks to the goal scored by Kirian at the beginning of the second half. A victory that allows Laguna to definitively move away from the relegation places and remain in a quiet position.
It only took CD Laguna four minutes to create the first dangerous opportunity. Fran entered the area, shot across and Doramas put his hand in to prevent the ball from sneaking in next to the base of the post. The opportunity for the Laguna team was a mirage, with no further opportunities occurring during the entire first half.
The match was rough, monotonous and lacking in quality. Most of the game took place in the center of the field, an area in which neither of the two teams was able to make two meaningful passes. The minutes passed and the fans who gathered at the Municipal de Yaiza were bored in the stands. With a goalless draw on the scoreboard, the first half came to an end.
CD Laguna would take the lead in the 2nd minute of the second half. After a corner kick, the ball was loose inside the area and Kirián Rodríguez took advantage to make it 0-1. The Unión Sur Yaiza defense was not successful in clearing the danger.
The second half had much more pace than the first half. CD Laguna could have increased the lead on the scoreboard in the 5th minute of the restart. Toledo shot from the edge of the area and Doramas reacted to prevent the second goal from the Laguna team. The response from Unión Sur Yaiza would come in the 54th minute. Antonio Yeray starred in a good individual play and his shot from the edge of the area was rejected by the goalkeeper.
Until the end of the match it was a case of wanting to but not being able to for Unión Sur Yaiza. The Lanzarote team was unable to endanger the Laguna defense. Yaiza's best chance would come in the 89th minute. Miguel Yunes entered the area, shot looking for the corner of the goal and Dani's hand prevented the equalizing goal.
There was no time for more and with the score of 0 to 1 the match came to an end. New defeat for Unión Sur Yaiza at home, a team that leaves everything it wins away from its stadium as a local this season. Laguna adds an important victory in the fight to avoid relegation.
