UD Lanzarote thrashes Villa Santa Brígida and is one point away from the play-off zone

The Rojillos achieve a comfortable victory by scoring four goals against their rival

UD Lanzarote added a new victory that allows them to continue depending on themselves in the two games remaining until the end of the regular phase of the competition. The Rojillos won by a clear 4-0 against UD Villa Santa Brígida, in a match they controlled from the beginning, and which they sealed in the first minutes of the second half.

From the start, UD Lanzarote took control of the game, and did not despair when it came to opening the scoring. The first goal came in the 30th minute of the first half, after a cross from Ayoze Pérez from the right wing, goalkeeper Jonay was not accurate in the exit and the ball fell to Iván Hujo who scored the first.

At the beginning of the second half, the second goal would arrive for the locals. Ale Fuentes caught a loose ball inside the area to beat goalkeeper Jonay for the second time. Just five minutes later, Matías Sosa headed a corner kick at the far post to make it three for UD Lanzarote.

UD Lanzarote closed the scoring in the 69th minute, with Adrián Machín receiving a ball on the right side and beating the goalkeeper with a crossed shot. The Rojillos were very vertical in this second half, and had chances to increase the differences, with striker Álvaro Iglesias having the clearest ones.

With the score of 4-0, the match came to an end, with UD Lanzarote adding a victory that places them just one point away from the promotion play-off zone, which is currently occupied by CD Mensajero. Precisely, the team from La Palma will be the next rival of UD Lanzarote.
