UD Lanzarote continues its upward trend and on Saturday morning scored a well-deserved victory. The red-and-white team visited CD Marino, a rival that has not started the season well and arrived with the need to win all three points. It was the Tenerife team that took the lead through Josua Benítez, but UD Lanzarote soon turned the result around with goals from Rubo and Alyson.

The first half was marked by the scarce football played by both teams on the field, although it was dynamic and entertaining for the public that gathered at the Antonio Domínguez stadium in Los Cristianos. CD Marino took the lead in their first clear arrival in the area. In the 10th minute, a corner kick executed by Fredy Valencia was headed by Josua Benítez into the back of the net.

UD Lanzarote's reaction was immediate, and just seven minutes later the equalizing goal arrived. Striker Rubo once again demonstrated his cunning in the final meters, intercepting a pass from defender Josua to his goalkeeper, and with the tip of his boot he beat goalkeeper Rudy. Rubo's fourth goal of the season with the UD Lanzarote shirt.

Before the first half hour of the match, the Lanzarote team turned the score around. A shot from Alyson was repelled by goalkeeper Rudy, with Alyson himself picking up the rebound and sending the ball into the back of the net with a precise chip, touching the bottom of the crossbar beforehand.

UD Lanzarote could have increased the difference before the break, with a powerful shot from Rubo that went just wide of the left post. Shortly after, Marino troubled the goal defended by Ruyman with a header from Vidal that went over the crossbar. The first 45 minutes of the match ended with a score of 1-2.

In the second half, CD Marino was not successful in the final meters and had good chances to equalize, facing a UD Lanzarote that knew how to suffer to maintain the narrow advantage it had. In the 51st minute, a free kick taken by Nebai almost slipped between the three posts, and shortly after a shot from Suárez touched a defender before crashing into the base of the post.

The dominance of CD Marino increased in the final minutes, with the Tenerife team looking for the goal that would at least give them a draw. A strong shot from Alberto was deflected by Ruymán, and the ball was again repelled by the post of the goal. And in the 83rd minute, Samuel Arbelo could not beat an inspired Ruymán.

UD Lanzarote used its experience to add the three points at stake and achieve a well-deserved victory in a always complicated field. Pending the results of Sunday's match, the red-and-white team is placed in the second position of the classification with 11 points. Next Wednesday, starting at 8:00 p.m., they will receive Atlético Paso at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
