Tomorrow, Wednesday, at eight in the evening, the XIII edition of the Puerto Calero Deep Sea Fishing Tournament kicks off with the celebration of the skippers' meeting with the judges and organizers. Around sixty boats will set sail first thing on Thursday in search of the precious blue marlin, the fishing days will continue during Friday and Saturday.

The boats with the highest score, in addition to the corresponding trophies designed for this event, will win a trip for two people to Miami or the Bahamas, where they will enjoy three days of fishing on the official boat of the manufacturer Bertram.

With the sixty boats registered, the number of participants from the past edition is exceeded, with the organization expecting to break the record of participating boats.

The climatic conditions forecast for the coming days suggest great possibilities for achieving important catches.

On Saturday night, the awards ceremony is scheduled at the Puerto Calero facilities, which will once again feature Alexia de Gracia and Carlos Morales as guests. The initiative launched 12 years ago by José Calero, thus reaches its thirteenth edition.

The Puerto Calero Deep Sea Fishing Tournament, together with the César Manrique-Puerto Calero Regatta, which is held every year within the Canary Islands Sailing Circuit in the Cruiser class and counts towards the Spanish Championship of the modality, are two of the most important and prestigious sporting events within the island's sporting calendar, as well as in the tourist promotion of the Island. Without a doubt, we are facing an event of great sporting level.
