Three sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife participate in the ILCA 4 Spanish Championship

Unai de Ugarte and Guillermo Bravo de Laguna, the best Canarians in the national competition

Last weekend the Spanish ILCA 4 Championship was held, a competition that counted on the participation of three sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. Unai de Ugarte, Guillermo Bravo de Laguna and Mateo Roa adapted to the demanding sailing conditions, and were the best classified Canary Islanders in the men's category.

Los Alcázares, in Murcia, hosted a new edition of the ILCA 4 Spanish Championship, a competition that had the participation of 138 sailors from all corners of the national geography. The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife had the presence of Unai de Ugarte, Guillermo Bravo de Laguna and Mateo Roa, sailors who participated in the male under-18 categoryFrom the first day, the wind conditions were very demanding and even the first day had to be canceled due to a weather alert in the area. Finally, the Murcia Region Sailing Federation, organizer of the event, was able to carry out the ten scheduled races, being marked by the strong wind that blew in the Mar MenorThe sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife broke into the top classified of the ILCA 4 Spanish Championship. Unai de Ugarte finished the competition in a more than meritorious seventh place and Guillermo Bravo de Laguna qualified in 14th position overall, being the two best Canary Islands sailors in the male category. And Mateo Roa concluded his participation in 79th place overallCanarias conquered the third spot for teams by Autonomous Communities in the Spanish ILCA 4 Championship with a total of 177 points, placing behind Balearic Islands (105) and Valencian Community (109)
