UD Lanzarote's league debut in the year 2022 will have to wait at least another week, after the impossibility of playing next Sunday's match against Unión Puerto, corresponding to the 18th matchday of group XII of the Third Division RFEF. The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has determined the postponement of the match, a circumstance that occurs after detecting several positive cases of covid19 in the squad of the red team.

On Friday morning, the relevant antigen tests were carried out as part of the health protocol of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The tests recorded several positive cases of covid19 among the members of the UD Lanzarote squad, results that were transferred to the medical services of the federation.

This Friday's training session, scheduled for 10:00 am at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote, was suspended as a precaution and those affected by covid19 proceeded to isolate themselves in their respective homes. All of them are in good health, and some with mild symptoms compatible with the disease.

The medical services of the Royal Spanish Football Federation determined the sports quarantine of all members of the squad until next Wednesday, January 12, date on which, in principle, training can be resumed. Subsequently, the Competition Committee informed the two clubs involved of the postponement of the match scheduled for next Sunday at the Municipal de Los Pozos.

Unión Puerto and UD Lanzarote must determine a new date for the celebration of the match corresponding to the 18th matchday of group XII of the Third Division RFEF.
