The big day of the most bestial race in Lanzarote arrives, Bestial Race 10k Xtreme Yaiza 2023, the third of the five events on the Bestial Race Series 2023 calendar. A test full of novelties, in which 800 athletes of 20 nationalities will participate, who will have to overcome a total of 30 obstacles during the morning of this Saturday, September 2.
Runners like Jessica Velasco, the Spanish OCR champion, Vanessa Fuster, the British Elena Wells, winner of the Bestial Race of Fuerteventura, and Dafne Rios, in the women's category; Azman Mesand, European champion in the short distance of obstacle course racing, Manuel Luján, Daniel Osma and Yeray Cabrera, among others, will be some of the participants in the Elite mode of this race, which gains more followers every year.
The Spanish OCR champion, Jessica Velasco, highlighted that "the winners of the bestial series are undoubtedly the most complete athletes in OCR, since they are very demanding races due to the novelty and hardness of the obstacles. In addition, by participating in the series you are lucky enough to visit each of the islands of the Canary Islands."
For his part, Azman Mesand, who after winning the European championship in the short distance of obstacle course racing, pointed out that it is one of his favorite races. "It is a challenge that not only allows me to compete with many of the best regional and national athletes, but also gives me the opportunity to share an unforgettable weekend with them in an unparalleled environment such as the municipality of Yaiza, in Lanzarote," commented the athlete from Gran Canaria, who added that "this test is a preparation for the World Cup, which is held from September 15 to 17."
The Bestial Race 10k Xtreme Yaiza 2023 has become one of the sporting milestones of the Island. It is an event that places Lanzarote, and more specifically the municipality of Yaiza, at the epicenter of one of the most important obstacle races at a regional, national and international level.

Runners will be able to participate in different modalities, among which are: the Elite, where you can participate against some of the best obstacle athletes from the islands, national and international. All those in this category must comply with the OSO regulations, which means that you cannot fail in any obstacle and no type of help is allowed, but the organization encourages you to repeat the obstacle without limits of opportunities until it is overcome and you can do so using the retry line in those obstacles that have streets for repetitions or the one indicated by the judges.
In the General mode, which are the most fun and participatory, runners can compete individually or in teams and in pairs, where they are allowed help and have two opportunities to perform the obstacles, if not with #burpees.
The race will begin this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and all athletes will start in their designated heat, participating in it and leaving in stages.
