The Marlines canoeing club won 15 medals and second place in the club classification in the XVII Canarian Sea Kayak Championship, which was held this Saturday, June 2, on El Médano beach in Tenerife. "It is undoubtedly one of the best results of the team, which is completing one of the best seasons in the history of this club," they point out from the club. The sea conditions were very harsh, but the Lanzarote team, made up of 27 paddlers and their 2 coaches, faced them with great enthusiasm and strength, achieving a magnificent result.

The following results were obtained: in Alevín men, Eloy Woelke de Leon third place; in Children B women, Irene Melero León third place, Lucía Leon Santana second place and Yaiza Acosta Hernández first place; in Children B men, Giovanni Ortiz Bahamonde third place; in Children A women, Ariadna Duarte Viñoly third place, Elba García Martín second place and Iria Suarez Vazquez first place; in Children A men, Luis Felipe Dominguez Ruiz third place, Oscar F. Asensio Coker second place and Gabriel Guerrero Muñoz first place; in Popular -17, Inen Hernandez Carabias first place; in Cadet men, Nicolas Betancor Montelongo second place; in Youth Men, Gabriel Cabrera Caraballo second place; and in Veteran B men, Paulo Gomez Nunes second place. A total of 4 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals, is a reflection of the great work that is being done in this club.

The next objectives of the Marlines are the IV Canary Islands Sea Kayak Cup of Fuerteventura on June 16, which completes the five events of the I Canary Islands Sea Kayak League; and the Spanish Championship that is held on September 15 and 16 in Castellón, thus completing the National Calendar.

Finally, they state that "there are many months of intense work ahead to arrive in the best conditions to the national event, which is a great milestone of the season." The Marlines also have another great event on the agenda, which is the European Championship on October 6 and 7.
