The fourteenth matchday of the Women's Silver Division left an exciting game last Saturday in the municipal of San Bartolomé. Elda Prestigio ended up taking the two points in a match where anything could have happened, with CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote arriving with chances of victory until the last minute after having corrected the errors that weighed them down from the first half.

And the first half quickly became uphill for the red and blacks. CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote struggled to overcome the Alicante defense, also suffering from a lack of aim and unforced errors, which meant that the first partials went against the 'batateras'.

Elda Prestigio was better positioned on the court, with a point more of speed that allowed them to find the goal through rebounds or from the penalty line.

Susi Sánchez in goal prevented the damage from being more serious for a team that did not find the rival net until after the seventh minute of the match. Ingrid Roger opened the local score (1-4), but it did not mean a change of dynamics. The red and blacks continued to attribute a lack of aim, while being surpassed in defense, which is why Patro Barambio had to request the first timeout shortly after the first ten minutes of the match (2-7).

There were then very rough moments with few goals, with Elda Prestigio achieving 4-9 through a maximum penalty. The 'batateras' still didn't

they were comfortable, as could be seen with several rushes with which possession was lost and which kept them five goals below on the scoreboard, although it was just then when the local gallop began.

Ingrid twice and two spectacular saves by Susi Sánchez put the score at 6 to 10. Gleinys Reyes would then find the goal on the counterattack and Brenda Roger would put it at 8-11 in the twenty-fifth minute.

The break would come at the worst time for local interests, after managing to take advantage of the numerical superiority so that Marta Cuenca and again the youngest of the Rogers reduced the score to 10-12, reaching the interval with a hopeful 10-13 that momentarily cut the good local dynamic.

The second half began with CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote reducing the differences even further. The coach's guidelines and a new 5:1 seemed to work to recover the first balls, reaching 12-13 in just three minutes of the second half.

The red and blacks wanted to fix the mistakes of the first thirty minutes by coming out with much more force. The Cuban winger gave good faith of this, achieving the tie at 14 and coming back in the game just two minutes later (16-15).

A much faster and more forceful CB Zonzamas in defense prevailed over a dislocated Elda Prestigio, but the exclusions were key for the Alicante team to continue fighting for a game that seemed to be getting too long for them.

With fifteen minutes remaining, the score returned to the visitors' side (17-18), but the red and blacks had the capacity to continue fighting to maintain their options. Moments of great tension and equality that once again left a new tie by the hand of Berenice Frelier (19-19) in the seventeenth minute.

The final stretch of the match was truly suspenseful. The locals had the opportunity to come back again, but again the lack of aim and a great visiting goalkeeper prevented it. Fatigue seemed to take its toll and there were new unforced errors from the red and black side, leaving the score 19-22 with eight minutes to go.

A lot of time for a game that could be decided by either side. This was demonstrated by Brenda when she achieved a new tie after a previous push, which could well have been worth a visitor exclusion, but which at least was worth putting the 23-24 with three minutes remaining.

But finally the feat could not be. The match came to an end with a goal disallowed under the horn that left the municipal hall of San Bartolomé cold. The final 23-24 left CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote without points, condemned by the numerous errors of the first half, giving the victory of the match to the team that made the fewest mistakes.

Although they reacted in time, it was not enough for the 'batateras' to fix a match in which they proved to be on equal terms with the teams at the top of the table. Next week they will have to travel to face a direct rival such as Vino Doña Berenguela BM Bolaños, fifth classified with only one point more than the 'batatero' team.
