Everything is ready for a new edition of the Music Marathon Festival to be held next Saturday, a test in which about 500 athletes and more than a hundred minors will participate. The Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen will bring together a great musical atmosphere to welcome the half thousand participants in the fifth edition of the Music Marathon Festival. Along the route, there will be ten stages with different musical styles and the race is open to all audiences, with the possibility of covering the distance running, jogging or even walking.
On the morning of this Wednesday, the official presentation of the V Music Marathon Festival took place. The press conference was held in the "Teguise" hall of the VIK Hotel San Antonio, being chaired by Kenneth Gasque, sports director of the event. Kenneth was accompanied by Martín Cruces and Bienvenido Saavedra, directors of the VIK Hotel San Antonio and Grupo Fariones, respectively, and main sponsoring companies of the Music Marathon Festival.
Kenneth Gasque was in charge of explaining the peculiarities of the Music Marathon Festival, assuring that it is a sporting event open to all people, having the possibility of doing the route walking, jogging or running. Along the entire route along the Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen, ten stages will be set up, collecting different musical styles and accompanying the participants and family, friends and visitors who come to the race with music.
Bienvenido Saavedra, director of Grupo Fariones, was critical of the little support that this type of sports initiatives receives from public institutions. Bienvenido Saavedra assured that "the effort we private companies make is not reflected in the support we receive from public institutions", and even expressed missing some public official during the presentation of the V Music Marathon Festival.
For his part, Martín Cruces, director of VIK Hotel San Antonio, thanked Kenneth Gasque for the effort he makes year after year to try to organize this type of sports events and manage to economically boost the entire tourist area of Puerto del Carmen. Cruces stated that he was "very happy to be collaborating with the Music Marathon Festival" and assured that VIK Hotel San Antonio has made a "commitment to sport".
The fifth edition of the Music Marathon Festival will feature the participation of about 500 people in the categories of 1/8 Marathon (5.25 km), 1/4 Marathon (10.5 km) and 1/2 Marathon (21.1 km). And it will be about a hundred young people who will take part in the 800 and 1600 meter race. From 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, the sports and musical atmosphere will begin to be experienced in Puerto del Carmen. Minors will start at 3:30 p.m. and the rest of the categories at 4:00 p.m. Once the test is over, the awards ceremony will take place and as a culmination a great concert with live music.
