Fans who attend the Municipal Pavilion of Teguise on May 31 will have the opportunity to enjoy a boxing evening of many carats. The highlight will come at the end of the evening with the fight between Robert Hilario "Tiburón" and the Italian Roberto Cocco, with the "Super Middleweight" champion belt of the European Union at stake. Previously, two 6-round professional fights will take place, where the participation of the Canary Islander Cristian Montilla "Pluto" stands out. Former world champion Ricky Hatton will also be present in Lanzarote, as the promoter of the fight starring the British Sonny Upton.
Robert Hilario "Tiburón" is facing the final stretch of his preparation for the European Boxing Championship, which will take place in the municipality of Teguise, in Lanzarote. At the end of this week he will arrive in Lanzarote, to put himself in the hands of his mentor, Manuel Santacruz "Palenke", and finalize all the details of the evening on May 31. "Tiburón" will face the Italian Roberto Cocco, current champion of Italy. Cocco comes to this fight after defeating Iván Stupalo last March, this being the first fight as a boxer that he disputes in Spain.
The boxing evening on May 31 will feature two high-level professional fights. One of the fights will be starred by the Canary Islander Cristian Montilla "Pluto" against the Catalan Kiko Amarillo. "Pluto", a native of Gran Canaria, won the Spanish "Super Bantamweight" champion belt on March 28, defeating Ángel Llorente in the fifth round, in an evening held in Tamaraceite. As a professional, Cristian Montilla "Pluto" has achieved 5 victories, three of them by KO, and has suffered three defeats. This will be his first fight in Lanzarote as a professional boxer. His rival will be the Catalan Kiko Amarillo, a boxer who has seven fights as a professional in his record, with three wins, three draws and one loss.
One of the great attractions of the European Boxing Championship will be the presence of former champion Ricky Hatton. He is currently one of the most important boxing promoters in the world, managing the company Hatton Promotions dedicated to the world of boxing. The British Sonny Upton will arrive in Lanzarote with Ricky Hatton. A 24-year-old boxer who debuted as a professional in 2013 in the Bulgarian city of Vratsa, losing in his debut against the Canary Islander Nabil Sultan of Team Formento. His record includes two victories, one of them by KO, and the defeat against Nabil Sultan. The rival will be the Hungarian Zoltan Bedi.
The boxing evening on May 31 in Teguise will be completed with five Olympic boxing matches, having the opportunity to see the evolutions in the ring of the future promises of Canary boxing. The Municipal Pavilion of Teguise will have an approximate capacity of 2,000 spectators, opening the doors from 8:00 p.m., one hour before the evening. Tickets will cost 10 euros for the grandstand area and that are purchased in advance, increasing to 12 euros the price of the grandstand ticket if purchased at the box office on the day of the evening. As for the chair area, tickets will cost 30 euros for the 1st, 2nd row, 20 euros in the 3rd, 4th and 5th row, and 15 euros for unnumbered chairs.
There are three points of sale for tickets to the European Boxing Championship. The first is located in FitnessMania, located on Avenida Hernández Pacheco, number 14, in the Titerroy neighborhood.
