The competition team of the Auria Badminton Club had an appointment this weekend at the TOP TTR El Rosario, a level N7 tournament that took place in the under-11, under-13, under-15, senior and popular categories. The Lanzarote club traveled to the island of Tenerife with six players, completing a great day of competition in which they obtained two gold medals and three bronzes.
In the under-11 men's category, Álvaro Guadalupe asserted his status as the number one seed in the tournament, and the Auria Badminton Club player climbed to the top of the podium. After winning his two matches in the group stage against Gerald Santana (15-10, 15-4) and Bruno Pérez (15-3, 15-6), he advanced directly to the grand final, where he achieved victory against Manuel Cabrera (11-15, 15-6, 15-10), turning around an adverse score to win the gold medal.
In the individual event, the good performance of David Rodríguez in the under-13 men's category also stood out. The young Lanzarote player won his three matches in the group stage against Gorka Miguens (21-11, 21-9), Marvin Plasencia (21-11, 21-11) and Francisco José González (21-16, 23-21). In the semi-final round, he was defeated by Felipe Pérez (17-21, 16-21), achieving the bronze medal.
Double podium starring the players of the Auria Badminton Club in the men's doubles under-13, a competition that was held in the league mode with the participation of the four registered pairs. Isaac Rincón played this competition together with Marvin Plasencia (CD Bádminton Valle Gran Rey), winning the gold medal by defeating Cristian Miguel Barrera – Leiner Leonel Inlago (21-18, 21-19) and Eduardo Jesús González – Francisco José González (21-16, 22-20) and was defeated by his teammates Álvaro Guadalupe and David Rodríguez (21-19, 14-21, 14-21).
For their part, Álvaro Guadalupe and David Rodríguez finished the men's doubles competition in the under-13 category in third position, after defeating Eduardo Jesús González – Francisco José González (21-15, 21-10) and suffering a defeat against Cristian Miguel Barrera – Leiner Leonel Inlago (13-21, 16-21).
The Auria Badminton Club's medal tally in the TOP TTR El Rosario was completed with the bronze medal won by Jacob López and Nerea Padrón in the mixed doubles of the under-13 category. A competition in which they obtained victory against Diego González – Ainhoa Barreto (22-20, 22-20) and Gorka Miguens – Wendy Chen (21-9, 16-21, 21-17), and were defeated in the matches against Felipe Pérez – Marta Siverio (10-21, 12-21) and Airam David Steux – Ana Samyra Mendez (15-21, 9-21).
