Fun, sacrifice or effort, were some of the ingredients of the third edition of the Nutricross, a cross triathlon event held on Sunday morning in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen, in Tías (Lanzarote). A unique sporting event of 750 meters swimming, 20 kilometers of mountain biking and 5 kilometers of running, which had as its nerve center the Plaza de Las Naciones in Puerto del Carmen. The Bayliss couple, composed of Stephen and Bella, took the victory in the men's and women's category of the third edition of the Nutricross.

From early in the morning, a great sporting atmosphere began to be felt in the Plaza de Las Naciones. At 08:30 the "checking" of the race began, with the judges of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation verifying that all participants had the necessary material to face the race. And in the transition zone, the participants left their mountain bikes and all the material.

The men's category had three proper names, fighting from the swimming segment to win the Nutricross. Stephen Bayliss (Tri Activ Lanzarote), Viktors Vovrusko (CN Reales) and the cadet Álvaro Bernal (Tridente Tinajo), were in charge of occupying the first three positions throughout the entire course. Víctor Manuel González, a triathlete who was in second position, suffered an accident on the bicycle route, which left him without options to fight for the podium of the race.

Stephen Bayliss was opening the difference with the passing of the kilometers, sealing his victory in the running segment. The British athlete revalidates the triumph achieved in the second edition, crossing the finish line with a time of 1 hour, 9 minutes and 56 seconds. The second place on the podium was for Viktors Vovrusko (1:12:22), and the cadet triathlete Álvaro Bernal (1:15:44) surprised, taking the third position. Álvaro Bernal attended a training camp of the Spanish Triathlon Federation a few days ago.

She was almost six minutes ahead of Carmen Delia Luz (Club Ciclismo Tegala) and the third position would be for Alexandra Ersted (Triyaiza). Sybille Bouchet was also left without options to fight for the third position, after suffering a fall in the mountain bike segment.

Many of the participants in the third edition of the Nutricross completed the race in the team modality, a category that had the participation of 26 teams. The victory in the men's category was for "Una Vuelta Más", a team formed by Valentín, Fernández and Guardia. And in the women's category, the members of "Pasito a Pasito", integrated by Cabrera, Fiestas and Toledo, took the victory.
