On Friday afternoon, the DeportClinic facilities were inaugurated, the new sports advisory center located in Arrecife. An inauguration that was completed on Saturday morning with an open day and the first round table in which different aspects related to the world of sports were debated. A round table in which the athletes Cristina Jordán and Israel Oliver, the psychologist Manuela Rodríguez Marote and the doctor David López Capapé participated.
A little more than thirty people attended the first round table held at the DeportClinic facilities on Saturday morning, completing the available capacity. The presenter Carmen Nieves Pérez was in charge of moderating the round table, and later Toño Cedrés took over. It was a round table in which attendees were able to resolve their doubts, with great interaction between the public and the speakers.
The DeportClinic round table was entitled "The road to success... Anonymous heroes of sport" and included the participation of Manuela Rodríguez Marote, psychologist of the Olympic triathlon team and the Paralympic team, David López Capapé, member of the High Performance Center of Madrid, and the athletes Cristina Jordán Ordiales, European U23 cross champion, and Israel Oliver Peña, Paralympic swimmer who won five medals at the past World Championships.
Sports psychology was the topic of debate during the more than two hours that the DeportClinic round table lasted, debating the mental skills involved in high competitions and what is worked on in sports psychology. Cristina Jordán assured that among athletes there is "fear of going to the psychologist, and in reality it is there to help you", complementing this analysis with her personal experiences. For his part, David López Capapé warned that athletes should "have medical monitoring over time, the important thing is prevention before treating a problem".
Manuela Rodríguez Marote resolved the doubts of the attendees, who were interested in the work that is carried out in the branch of sports psychology. For his part, Israel Oliver explained the personal satisfaction that it means to finish daily training and that this work can then be transferred to the different competitions in which he participates.
A very pleasant round table that left the thirty attendees pleasantly satisfied. An activity that served to officially inaugurate the DeportClinic by Biolab sports advisory center. These facilities are located at Calle José Betancort, number 2 in Arrecife.
