In 2025 a total of 1,428,392 periodic inspections were carried out at some of the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV) stations in Canary Islands.
18.4% of the inspections had an unfavorable result, which amounts to a total of 262,771 reviews. The rate is similar to that of previous years, according to data published by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
There are only three stations in the Canary Islands where the percentage of inspections with a favorable result is less than 77% of those carried out. These are El Matorral - Antigua (74.1% favorable), La Graciosa (74.1%) and San Miguel (76.9%).
The percentage is similar if we only consider data for passenger cars with fewer than 9 seats, which are the majority of those on the road. In total, in 2025 there were 1,007,295 ITV inspections and 82 percent (826,173) were favorable. This is similar to previous years, although there is no defined upward or downward trend.
By island, 8 out of 10 appointments for ITV take place in Gran Canaria (36.9%) or Tenerife (43.2%). The percentage of tests with favorable results is similar in both cases and exceeds 80%.
