SPL Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen achieved a new victory this Sunday against "Aginteco" Balonmano Tacoronte (39-18) in a match corresponding to the third and final day of the Women's Youth Territorial Phase, a result with which they have been proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands and have obtained the pass to the national sector phase.
In the two previous days, the team from Tías also won on the opening day against 3com Squad Valsequillo (30-25) and against Balonmano CAM Juvenil from the neighboring island of Fuerteventura on Saturday (34-17).
The Lanzarote team occupied the first place on the podium, followed by the runners-up, also with a passport to the national sector phase, 3com Squad Valsequillo, with Balonmano CAM Juvenil from Majorera occupying the third position and "Aginteco" Balonmano Tacoronte closing the quartet.
Nayra Gil from Tías has finished as the second top scorer of the championship with eighteen goals in three matches, only behind Valeria Rodríguez (3com Squad Valsequillo) with twenty-five goals in three matches. Zaida Armas (sixteen goals) and Carla De Marco (fifteen goals) have contributed greatly to the offensive production of Puerto del Carmen.
The team was led by Miguel Ángel Lemes in the first two matches, with Antonio Gabaldón being the coach on Sunday as Lemes had traveled to the Canary Islands Children's Championship held in Gáldar where the team from Tías, led by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Santana, achieved the third position after winning on the final day of Sunday against the Majoreras of Bm. Morro Jable V.C. (7-18).
