San Bartolomé CF achieved an important victory this Sunday in their visit to CD Mensajero (0-1), thus achieving their first away win of the season. A goal from Judicael in the second half was enough for the team led by José Labrador to add three vital points in their fight to get away from the relegation zone.
The match, played at Silvestre Carrillo in front of about 600 spectators, began with maximum intensity, reflecting what was at stake for both teams, who needed points with different objectives.
Equality was the dominant theme in the first half, with few scoring chances and no clear dominator. The only clear opportunity before the break came in the 35th minute, when Gabri Quintero tried his luck for the locals, but without success. The score was tied at zero at halftime.
After the restart, CD Mensajero took the initiative and began to generate more danger in the batatera area. Despite the pressure from the local team, the San Bartolomé CF defense was organized and forceful, preventing the palmeros from finding their way to the goal.
In the 73rd minute, the decisive play of the match arrived. In a quick counterattack, Judicael took advantage of a great offensive transition from the team and finished with a shot at goalkeeper Padilla, unleashing joy in the batatera expedition and in the group of fans who traveled to La Palma.
In the final minutes, San Bartolomé CF knew how to defend with order and skill, closing the spaces and neutralizing Mensajero's attempts, who went all out in attack without finding reward. Agoney, secure under the posts, and the team's defensive solidity allowed them to maintain the lead until the final whistle.
With this 0-1, San Bartolomé CF achieves its first away victory of the season, adding three points that allow them to move away from the relegation places and face the next league commitment with confidence.
The batatero team is already looking ahead to the next matchday, where they will host CD Marino on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Municipal Pedro Espinosa "Colón". A new opportunity to continue adding points and consolidate their permanence in the Third RFEF.
