Sailors from Lanzarote participated last June in the 'Regata de La Reina' held in Valencia. Roberto Molina (gold medal in Los Angeles'84) as navigator, Ricardo Terrades (world champion and winner of 5 Copa del Rey) as mainsail trimmer and Queco Morales as libero in the cockpit, have been the people from Lanzarote in charge of representing the island in this sailing championship.

According to Ricardo Terrades, project manager of the team, "we arrived one more year in Palma eager to sail well and get a good result, but we are aware of how difficult it is," he says. "The first thing is to arrive with a good boat and team, and sponsors who trust the project. The second thing is to try to improve and optimize the boat every year," he adds. He highlights that "the third but not least important thing is to enjoy sailing, being united and doing good regattas."

He was reserved about the result, "Result? It is very difficult to get wet, this year there are very competitive boats in our class, among them the 'Aifos' of SM Felice VI that has a great team and a boat that has proven that it will be ahead, but we can not forget the other DK46, the Swan 45 and some other that can always sneak in like the Swan 42 that do not compete in their class," he says.

One more year the company Bamer Spain is betting on the sport of sailing and does so relying on the experience and talent of the Canarian sailors. During the month of May, the high-level regatta season began by co-sponsoring the 'Soler Cabot - Bamer' during the Conde Godó trophy in Barcelona. After the Catalan event, the brand was once again present at the Regata de La Reina, co-sponsoring on this occasion the 'Mercedes Benz - Valdisa' which managed to climb to the third step of the podium.

And now comes the moment of the most important regatta of the year, the Copa del Rey - Mapfre that will take place from July 28 to August 5 and where 'Bamer Spain' will collaborate with one of the best known teams, the 'Estrella Damm Sailing Team' winner of the editions of 1996, 2028 and 2019.

"What is clear is that as always we will try to do our best and compete at the highest level, we will see the result on Saturday, August 6," concludes Ricardo Terrades.

The team will compete in the 'queen class', the ORC-1 and where the maximum competitiveness is expected and where King Felipe VI will sail aboard the 'Aifos' of the Spanish Navy. This year the most important regatta in the Mediterranean has more than 100 registered teams, which come from 15 different nationalities and divided into eight classes according to the rating and characteristics of the boats.
