Great atmosphere on Wednesday night at the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion to enjoy the last match of the group stage of the Canary Islands Women's Handball Cup. Renault Juan Toledo Lanzarote San José Obrero and CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen, were fighting for the first place in the group and the possibility of playing the grand final against BM Rocasa Gran Canaria. It was the Tiñosa team that took the victory, winning by 21 to 30.

The first minutes of the match were dominated by CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen, being better positioned on the court and taking advantage of the mistakes made by the players of the local team. Lucía Betancort, with a 7-meter throw, culminated a partial score of 0-4 in the first six minutes, forcing coach David Betancort to request the first timeout of the match.

The game of Renault Juan Toledo Lanzarote San José Obrero was improving as the minutes passed, with important work in defense and effectiveness in attack. The goals of Vesi Nenkova and Nabila Harchaouin, put the score at 7 to 9. CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen reacted, achieving a new partial score of 0-3 with the goals of Suely Pinto Spencer and Cristina Betancort (7-12).

With two minutes left for the end of the first half, Renault Juan Toledo reduced the difference to the minimum expression thanks to a partial score of 4-0 (11-12). Rosa Álvarez was in charge of breaking the partial score of the locals and scoring the last goal of the first half. With the result of 11 to 13, the first 30 minutes of the game came to an end.

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen began to put land in the middle in the first minutes of the second half. The partial score was 1 to 4 in the first four minutes of the game, increasing the income to 5 goals (12-17). Renault Juan Toledo had a lot of trouble stopping the fast attacks of the rival, with the Tiñoseras showing a lot of mobility in the offensive actions.

The two teams decided to play this second part with more open defenses, with CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen being the one that took the most advantage of this tactical disposition. The pressure of the visitors allowed them to steal balls in the circulation of San José Obrero, mounting fast counterattacks to increase the difference in the score.

Unlike the first half, Renault Juan Toledo Lanzarote San José Obrero was not able to reduce the differences and little by little the match was tilting towards CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen. With the score of 21 to 30, the match came to an end, with Puerto del Carmen adding the second victory of the competition and taking first place in Group A of the Canary Islands Cup.
