The week within the UD Lanzarote begins with the incorporation of a new player who will be part of the red-and-blue team's squad during the 2023/2024 season. The Sports Council of UD Lanzarote has set its sights on one of the young promises of football in Lanzarote, completing the incorporation of midfielder Guize Medina. The footballer has just completed his training stage at Orientación Marítima, and will occupy one of the under-23 spots in the red-and-blue team.
Guize Medina Armas, born on March 23, 2004, is a player who usually plays in the wide area of the field. He stands out for being in charge of initiating the team's playmaking and for stealing the ball from opponents in the playmaking zone. His versatility also allows him to play in the defensive zone, to create superiorities in the center of the field.
He has good ball control, is forceful in each of his actions, and also dominates the aerial game. He started in the world of football in the lower categories of CD Lomo, a club where he remained until his cadet stage. He had a brief stint with the cadet team of UD Las Palmas, and as a youth player, he joined Orientación Marítima, a team with which he has played for three seasons in the Youth Honor Division and with which he has completed his training stage.
With the youth team of Orientación Marítima, he played all the matches this season in the Youth Honor Division, being a starter in all 30 official matches of the category. Once the competition in the national category ended, he joined the training sessions of the Regional team, being an undisputed starter in the promotion play-off. On Sunday midday, he achieved promotion to the Regional Preferente of Las Palmas with Orientación Marítima.
Guize Medina becomes the sixth signing of UD Lanzarote for the 2023/2024 season, and joins the incorporation of central defender Luciano Pierce "Chuky", attacking midfielder Ale Fuentes, right winger Alex Cruz, midfielder Joni Tejera, and attacking midfielder Santiago Rosa.
