Medals for the four players of San José Obrero in the CESA of Handball

Since last Tuesday, a new edition of the Spanish Championship of Autonomous Communities (CESA) of Handball has been held, a competition in which CB San José Obrero has had the participation of four of its players and who have defended the Canary Islands' jersey. The child Sonia Cañada won the bronze medal in the Spanish Championship and the cadets Aimar Luis, Daniel Martín and Pedro Santiago Noda, obtained the bronze in the Spanish Cup.

Four of the members of the lower categories of San José Obrero traveled to the Costa Blanca last Monday, January 2. In the female child category, the goalkeeper Sonia Cañada was selected, and in the male cadet category, Aimar Luis, Daniel Martín and Pedro Santiago Noda entered the call. A call in which they collected the prize for the work done in each of the training sessions developed in recent months.

The Canary Islands' female child team starred in one of the best performances and the combined team in which Sonia Cañada participated won the bronze medal in the Spanish Championship. In the first phase, the Canary Islands achieved victory against Castilla y León (23-17) and Catalonia (27-26), and fell against Castilla La Mancha. In the quarterfinals, the Canary Islands won in a solvent manner against Galicia (31-23) and in the semifinals fell in a tight manner against Andalusia (26-27). In the fight for the medals, the Canary Islands team defeated the Valencian Community (24-18) and won the bronze.

For its part, the Canary Islands' male cadet team began the competition in the Spanish Cup (second division) and could not achieve promotion to the Spanish Championship. After two defeats in the first phase, the combined team in which Aimar Luis, Daniel Martín and Pedro Santiago Noda participated managed to access the fight for the medals by winning against Andorra (46-16) and in the semifinals the Canary Islands fell against Cantabria (31-32). In the consolation final, the Canary Islands team won the bronze medal by defeating Asturias (36-28).

From CB San José Obrero they congratulate Sonia Cañada, Aimar Luis, Daniel Martín and Pedro Santiago Noda for their participation in the Spanish Championship of Autonomous Communities, not only for the successes achieved, but also for the experience acquired in a national event of these characteristics, in which the most promising promises of Spanish male and female handball are concentrated.
