Hard-fought victory achieved by Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" against Club Baloncesto Arxil by 52 to 46, in a match marked by equality.
The locals are gradually recovering troops that allow them to expand the rotation on the bench, a fact that diminished them in the last match played. For this match, they were able to count on Yaiza García.
The match was proving to be very even in the first quarter, two consecutive three-pointers from the Lanzarote team gave them a minimal advantage, maintaining that difference until the end of the first 10 minutes. That slight advantage of the locals over their rival was extended a little more until reaching a 10-point difference, at which point the Galicians achieved a partial score of 5 to 0 and subsequently reduced the score to reach halftime with a two-point advantage for the red and blacks.
The return to the court could not have been better for the Lanzarote team, who saw how the Macedonian native Nena Trajchevska, until now the top scorer of the rival team, saw her fourth personal foul and was removed from the court to avoid her early elimination. That gave the locals air when defending, but without forgetting the potential they had in front of them. Meanwhile, Iranzu Drake, Carolina Mateo and Lade Adepoju were already reaching double figures in scoring, their contribution on the court being very important to allow the quarter to conclude with a 9-point advantage in their favor.
The match became even more favorable for the players trained by Jesús García, who came to have a 12-point difference, entering at that moment into a dynamic of errors that allowed the peninsular team to grow and cut the score. Several visiting players were already close to elimination, but some local players were also in the same circumstance, thus losing some intensity in the defense of the two teams and leaving a score in suspense that reached only three points favorable to the locals.
Lade Adepoju scored in the last minute of the match to bring the difference back to six and, although the players trained by Maite Méndez tried to come back, it was impossible and the victory went to the local team.
Magec Tías thus premieres its box of matches won this season, facing with greater enthusiasm the next match against RACA Granada that will take place next Saturday at 8:00 p.m., peninsular time, playing the match in the Paquillo Fernández pavilion.
