Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" defeated Mariscos Antón Cortegada 55-51 in an intense match that also had great suspense in the final moments.
The Lanzarote team started the match with a disastrous first quarter in the offensive aspect, taking up to 8 minutes to score their first 3 points after a three-pointer by point guard Leonor Serralheiro, a player who was very active in the offensive section. Given the great local failure, the Galician team started with a wide advantage of 3 to 14.
The end of the first quarter was used by Jesús García, who took the opportunity to give a talk and encourage his players. After that, a much more intense team was seen on the court, not giving the Pontevedra team a chance and managing to be superior in practically all the balls that were in dispute. The locals managed to recover and after a great streak where they scored 14 points, they managed to come back and reach halftime with a minimal advantage on the scoreboard (29-27).
The players returned to the court after the halftime break with great equality that left everything to be decided for the second half. During the third quarter, there was a succession of baskets between both teams that prevented a difference in the score from occurring. Finally, the quarter would come to an end with a score of 37 to 37.
The low numbers in scoring did not show the intensity with which the players were using on the court, nor the emotion of a match that could fall to either side. Ending the third quarter, there were still no players who were warned of being eliminated by personal fouls, generating the idea that the match could go to overtime if it did not break in the next quarter.

When the match was closest to breaking in favor of one of the two teams, it was in the final moments when Magec Tías obtained a 6-point advantage, but a three-pointer by the visitor Sara Gómez put the tension back into the match, when there was still one minute to play.
The minute passed very slowly for the locals and very quickly for the visitors, reaching the end of the match with the result of 55 to 51.
This is the third consecutive victory for Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" which climbs to third place in the standings. The Lanzarote Sports City vibrated with the team and is already waiting for the next match at home, although before they will have to visit Ausarta Barakaldo next week, later Baloncesto Sevilla and then Aridane de La Palma to play again as local in the eighth match, against Hierro Díaz Miralvalle de Extremadura on November 19.
