The Snipe class, a pioneer of light sailing at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife and Lanzarote, has once again achieved an important triumph at the national level. Leonardo Armas Lasso and Miguel Bethencourt Fuentes were proclaimed this Sunday in Malaga as champions of the Spanish Snipe Cup.
The RCNA sailors started the last day of the LXXXIII Trophy His Majesty the King, Memorial Martín Wizner and Spanish Snipe Cup, from the second position in the classification.
In the two races held this Sunday, which completed five in the Malaga event, they were classified 23rd, which they discard, and 2nd, which gives them the title with 4 points ahead of the Galicians Roberto Bermúdez de Castro and Martín Mijares (CN Marina Coruña). The podium was completed by the brothers Gustavo and Rafael del Castillo (RCN Gran Canaria) 8 points behind the champions.
Miguel Bethencourt received the Martín Wizner award as the best crew member of the Spanish Cup.
Miguel Ángel Naverán and Miguel Hernández finished in 8th position in the absolute category. 17th place for Miguel Ángel Lasso and Tomás Fuentes. 26th Matías Garcías and Félix Echevarría Novaro, 30th Fernando Domingo Hernández and Félix Echevarría Rodríguez.
In the master category, Pablo Fresneda and Javier López (C de Mar Almería) were the winners, followed by Fernando Rita and Alexandre Tinoco (CM Mahón) and in the third position Damián
Borrás and Sara Francheschi (CM Mahón). Pedro Ferrer and Yaimur Hernández from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife were classified fourth.
