UD Lanzarote suffered a new defeat this Sunday at noon within group XII of the Third Division RFEF, a setback that complicates the qualifying situation of the red and white team in the final stretch of the regular season. The team trained by Mateo García once again showed the problems they are having this season in front of goal, failing to materialize the attacking actions they generated and seeing how the opponent took all three points in a single approach.
The match would start with a lot of rhythm and chances for both teams. The first for UD Lanzarote came with a play down the right wing by Keita, he gave way to Gonzalo Di Renzo and the Vera goalkeeper cleared from below. After this action, Miguel Gopar could not complete a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and Kevin Lemes did not reach a good pass from Keita in front of goal.
After the first half hour, the only goal of the match arrived. In the 38th minute, Jorge was in charge of executing a free kick from the right side and Adrián Plaza headed into the back of the net defended by Ruymán. A free kick launched by Pacheco was headed by Matheus at the far post and again the ball hit the top of the crossbar. And the clearest chance came in the 75th minute, Ayoze Pérez heading a good cross from Adrián Machín into the heart of the area and the shot was repelled by the crossbar.
There was no way to break through the CD Vera goal and with the score of 0-1 the end of the match was reached. A result that leaves UD Lanzarote in twelfth place in the standings and next week they visit CD Buzanada.
