The Cabildo of Lanzarote has proceeded to the partial closure of the LZ-409, the road that connects the towns of Mozaga and El Peñón, after a bus crashed this Saturday morning into a house next to the Mozaga roundabout, causing it to collapse.

Specifically, the right lane of the road between kilometer points 0+000 and 0+050 has been closed, affecting only the beginning of the road between Mozaga and El Peñón.

The decision was made after a joint visit by technicians from the Teguise City Council and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, who asserted that there is a risk of partial collapse of the wall of the house, which could cause caps to fall on the road.

A Road Conservation team has been in charge of carrying out the road closure with the supervision of the Civil Guard Traffic.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote will continue to review the condition of the house and, once road safety is guaranteed, will reopen the road completely.
