On Sunday, the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Canary Islands Association of Yacht Clubs was held in Tenerife, an event that took place at the facilities of the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife and was attended by eight clubs. During the meeting, the president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero Ortega, was appointed president of the Canary Islands Association of Yacht Clubs.
The Extraordinary General Assembly addressed the different items on the agenda, with the attendance of all the presidents and technical teams of the clubs. In addition, a telematic meeting was held with the president of the Spanish Confederation of Nautical Clubs Associations (CEACNA), which brings together a large part of the nautical clubs in Spain.
During the meeting, common issues that concern most of the clubs were identified, and a firm commitment was made to activate an association that represents 90% of the sailing sport in the Canary Islands. The new journey of the Canary Islands Association of Yacht Clubs will have Julio Romero Ortega as president, in an exciting and necessary stage for sailing in the archipelago.
Real Club Náutico de Tenerife, Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Real Club Náutico de La Palma, Real Club Victoria, Club Náutico Puerto Colón, Club del Mar Radazul, and Club Náutico de Fuerteventura were the eight clubs represented at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Canary Islands Association of Nautical Clubs.
