The sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife returned to competition this past weekend, with five club members participating in the ILCA 4 Canary Islands Cup. The event held in the waters of Santa Cruz de Tenerife was a qualifier to prepare the 2025 Canary Islands ranking for the ILCA 4 class. Siblings Guillermo and Adriana Bravo de Laguna climbed the podium, being proclaimed runners-up of the ILCA 4 Canary Islands Cup.

The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife racing team traveled to the island of Tenerife, participating in the ILCA 4 Canary Islands Cup Armas Trasmediterránea Trophy and organized by the Real Club Náutico de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The expedition was made up of Guillermo Bravo de Laguna Ferrer, Ulises Montesdeoca Molina, Atteneri García Cobo, and Alba Romero Pereyra in the under 18 category, and Adriana Bravo de Laguna Ferrer in the under 16 category. They were accompanied by Salvador Postigo as coach.

The weather conditions allowed the celebration of the six events scheduled for the weekend, offering the sailors a great show in the bay of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The event had the participation of 36 sailors.

In the under 18 male category, Guillermo Bravo de Laguna had a very consistent competition, finishing Saturday with a partial victory. On Sunday, the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife sailor added a second and a third place, results that earned him the runner-up position in the ILCA 4 Canary Islands Cup.

The other great result of the weekend was starred by Adriana Bravo de Laguna in the under 16 female category. The young sailor from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife was second in her category, and despite her youth, she rubbed shoulders with the best sailors in the competition throughout the weekend.

Atteneri García was just short of the podium in the under 18 female category, classifying in a more than meritorious fourth position. Her teammate Alba Romero was seventh in the under 18 female category and Ulises Montesdeoca was classified in the ninth position of the under 18 male.

The ILCA 4 Canary Islands Cup Naviera Armas Transmediterránea Trophy will decide the Canary Islands sailors who will occupy the 21 places that the Canary Islands has assigned for the Spanish Cup, which is held on the last weekend of January in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
