Family, acquaintances, and especially friends, did not want to miss the tribute that the world of paddle tennis paid to Fernando Arciniega. A festive day in which small paddle tennis matches were held and in which a great lover of paddle tennis in Lanzarote was honored.
Chechu Herrero, Javier Burgos, Teo Benasco or Javier Martínez, important figures of paddle tennis in Lanzarote, did not miss the event. Fernando Arciniega and his family felt supported at all times by a small representation of their friends. Small paddle tennis matches were played, in which the result obtained was not taken into account, the only thing that mattered was the fun between the players.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was experienced with the presentation of a plaque recognizing the sporting and personal career of Fernando Arciniega. The honoree commented that "I have retired from work but not from paddle tennis" and added that "after the illness I have felt a lot of affection from the people of paddle tennis and I am pleasantly surprised". David Rodríguez, Councilor for Parks and Gardens of the Arrecife City Council, was present at the tribute.
After the tribute, the couple formed by Fernando Arciniega and Chechu Herrero faced Javier Burgos and Carlos on the playing field. They put the color back on the court and thus the matches followed in a great atmosphere. The tribute was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Arrecife City Council, Dunlop, Megacentro-Bullpadel, Coca-Cola, Trazos, Lebanza, Lanzarotepadel ? Lude. At the closing of the event, the rackets of the Spanish paddle tennis champions Iciar Monte and Patty Llaguno were raffled among the attendees.
