El Puerto Calero-Hesperia closed yesterday the Trophy S.M. la Reina with a seventh place, the best partial in the five rounds of the Valencia event for the IMS 500 class. In this way, the boat finished in ninth position in the final classification of the Valencian regatta, which has meant its debut in the national IMS calendar.
The Canarian crew started the last windward-leeward, composed of six sections and characterized by a wind of 10 knots, with the deficit in its set of sails, after having broken two genoas on Saturday. Even so, José Luis Doreste's boat, skippered by Alfredo Morales, always moved through the middle zone of the fleet, maintaining a special fight from the start with the Azur de Puig and with the Medi Burriana at some buoy passage. In the last downwind, the Puerto Calero-Hesperia recovered some positions until finishing in seventh position.
The Canarian crew will dedicate the next ten days to optimize their boat and work hard in their training for the IMS World Championship that will be held in Mahón from July 13 to 17, where the Puerto Calero-Hesperia will compete in IMS 500 ready to be in a prominent place.
