The first and third-ranked teams of the Men's National First Division of Handball met at the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion in search of taking the provisional first place in the category. A clash marked in red on the calendar of the Lanzarote team, knowing that as locals they cannot give up points in the current campaign.

Therefore, the local team came out fully focused to receive Automanía Luceros, a subsidiary club of Cangas Morrazo of Asobal, which had two regular players in the first team. Although the peninsular team took the lead on the scoreboard, it was the only moment in which the game was against San José Obrero, who soon took the lead with a precious handball that gave few opportunities to the Galicians.

The distribution of play by Robert Giménez and the finishing by Ander Iriarte gradually gave a clearer advantage on the scoreboard. The timeout requested by the debuting Domingo Da Cunha did not do much to get his team back into the game and the Lanzarote team continued with the lead in the game, reaching halftime with a score of 18 to 12.

The beginning of the second half was overwhelming for Jesús Casanova's team, who with a partial score of 8 to 1, managed to overcome their rival on the scoreboard, putting a result of 26 to 13, at which point the visiting coach had already used two timeouts and the local coach took the opportunity to make more rotations than usual, giving many minutes to players from the youth academy, even having three goalkeepers throughout the match.

Although Automanía Luceros managed to reduce the difference to 9, with several consecutive goals from Miguel Pousa, Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote San José Obrero did not fear for the result, extending the differences to 15 goals, impossible to reduce for the rival team with the inexorable passage of time on the scoreboard.

The match ended with a score of 39 to 25, with a resounding victory for the Lanzarote team, making it clear that they aspire to everything in the fight for the League, maintaining the lead for one more day and taking a greater advantage over one of the direct rivals in their objective.
