The feelings were not good before the start of the match due to the way the training sessions had developed, but the truth is that Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote resolved the first commitment of the year in the First National Men's League with a high grade. The Lanzarote team struggled to get into the game, overcoming their rival from the moment they adjusted their defensive system and were able to inject speed into their attacking plays.
The match began with the dominance of Seis do Nadal, a team that was able to establish the first important differences on the scoreboard. The defense of Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote failed to stop the Galicians' attacks, and in attack the local team was very thick in each of its actions. The score reflected a 2-5 in favor of the visitors.
As the minutes went by, the game of Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote became more like the usual. With a 5:1 defensive system, they began to put Seis do Nadal in trouble, recovering balls and going on the attack at speed. Alexis Rodriguez was in charge of tying the score and Carmelo Álvarez from the right wing put his team ahead for the first time on the scoreboard (9-8).
With ten minutes left before the break, the coach of Seis do Nadal requested a time-out, seeing how the rival had acquired a two-goal advantage (12-10). After the instructions from the bench, the partial in favor of the locals was 3-0, highlighting the two goals of the youth player Mario Díaz from the wing. The score of 18 to 12 would be reached at halftime.
Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote did not take their foot off the accelerator in the second half, opening the difference as the minutes passed. Pivot Pedro Cabrera returned after several weeks of absence due to injury and the young Roberto Molina was placed under the sticks, earning the applause of the public with his interventions.
The Lanzarote team increased the lead by more than ten goals, after the goals scored by Pedro Cabrera, Rafa Robayna and Carmelo Álvarez (31-18). Seis do Nadal was suffering from the lack of depth on the bench, and the fatigue was evident on the court.
